A loooong day's ride up the Black Hills Road and down into Magra. An excellent spot for special piccies. Thank you also to the girls at the Magra Shop for their yummo pies, and Doug King next door who provided drinks for the horses and the wheelie bin for the rubbish.

30/1 Preparing to leave Bronte Park for Victoria Valley. Fine and sunny. We were happy to welcome Helen back for half a day on her Dad's horse Mirth. A bit concerned about the bush fires but met some friendly Firies from Bracknell who have reassured us that all should by OK where we are going.

HALF WAY
Monday 28/1 Rest day at Skittleball Plain.Windy night but beautiful sunny day. Bacon and eggs for riders and big brekkies for horses. Being joined by Helen who took Brandy home yesterday for a 10 day break before riding the last day into Dover. John Robb, her dad, is also coming up to lead us through the next tricky stage into Bronte Park. All out for dinner at the Great Lake Hotel tonight.

News Flash
There has been an adjustment to the ride schedule due to Brandy going lame. The party will be staying at Blackwood Creek for an extra day before climbing the Caves Track. The delay will be made up by travelling to Arthurs Lake in one day. Heading for the Vet's today (25 Jan).
Brandy has been diagnosed with sesamoiditis and was compensating for the pain by putting more weight on his hind legs and back which was also sore.

Riders had rain overnight at the Gog camp but managed to negotiate the River Mersey OK.
Passed Montana Falls at 2.30pm 20th Jan. Ashley left group at lunchtime.

Members of the Clifton Riding Club rode the Tasmanian Trail from north to south as part of the Trail 10th anniversary celebrations.They started on 18 January and arrived in Dover on Friday 8 February.
Several riders joined the party from time to time but five completed the full length..
Lyndon found a nice paddock for the horses at Judbury and we settled in for a rest day before the final two days to Dover. We are all very tired now but feeling pleased with our achievments so far.
Rest day entertainment - pony rides for all. John, who has provided back-up all though the trip, joins the horse riding fraternity.
